I am a caring, compassionate, therapist, helping people to overcome difficulties in their life. From depression and anxiety to relationship issues, low self-esteem, and everyday life stresses. I aim to help people improve the quality of their lives by promoting self-awareness and understanding, and by identifying and addressing any unhelpful behavioural patterns and/or self-defeating attitudes, thoughts, and beliefs. I believe building a collaborative and empowering therapeutic relationship is essential to a positive therapeutic experience.
Tailoring my way of working to suit you and your needs as an individual, we would meet each week, for 50 minutes to explore any pressing concerns, complex problems, or ongoing unresolved issues you are facing in your life right now.
We may agree to meet for a time-limited period and/or review progress after a set number of sessions.
By setting clear goals around your aspirations and needs, we would meet every two weeks, to explore and chart your progress to living a more fulfilling life, as decided by you. Drawing on a range of evidence-based coaching strategies, we would work together to embed new habits, to create and enhance the life you want.
As an associate professor in evidence-based mental health, I have worked with a range of practitioners (e.g. coaches, personal trainers, wellbeing advisors, and therapists) interested in professional mentorship. I am passionate about providing a space for people to consider what type of practitioner they want to be, and how they might want to practice and ensure their business flourishes. If you would like to know more about my approach to mentorship please contact me for further details.
The Islington consulting rooms have been converted from a Victorian townhouse to a bespoke therapeutic space. The rooms have an abundance of natural light and there is also a waiting room and a full-time concierge. They are a short walk from Angel tube station, Essex Road overground and a number of London buses (4, 19, 30, 38, 43, 56, 73, 153). In addition to being on a cycle path, there is also pay & display parking, where you can park for free before 8:30 am and after 6:30 pm.
Online - video platform
Using a fully encrypted and secure platform, you can access online counselling and psychotherapy from any location. The growth of online counselling and psychotherapy has expanded in the last five years making it a more accessible and affordable option for many. You have access to my personal link to join a video call (doxy.me/kellydickson). You can click on the link prior to the session which will alert me that you are in the 'online waiting' room. It is accessible from both your laptop or mobile app.
Located in the heart of Central London, Bloomsbury is easily accessible from the City and local areas. Nearby tube stations include Holborn (Central, Piccadilly line) Tottenham Court Road (Northern, Central Line) in addition to many bus routes and cycle paths. My WC1
